To qualify for the diploma, applicants must have attained at least a C plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.

The Kenya School of Law has officially opened admissions for its Diploma in Law programme, targeting students who wish to pursue careers in legal support roles.

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) will handle the placement process for the May 2026 intake, offering both in-person and virtual learning options.

KUCCPS, in a notice released on Monday, February 23, invited applications from students keen to enter the legal profession via paralegal studies. The placement body emphasized that all interested candidates should submit their applications through its online platform before the closing date.

To qualify for the diploma, applicants must have attained at least a C plain in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations. Additionally, a minimum grade of C+ in either English or Kiswahili is required. The application period opened on February 23 and will end on March 9.

The programme will run at the Kenya School of Law’s Karen Campus and at its Town Campus located in Nairobi’s central business district. Students may choose between daytime face-to-face classes or evening virtual sessions, depending on their convenience.

Prospective candidates have been urged to complete their applications promptly via the KUCCPS portal to secure placement.

The Diploma in Law, also known as Paralegal Studies, is structured to give learners foundational legal knowledge and practical skills to assist advocates, judicial officers, and other legal professionals in various administrative and legal tasks.

Bringing the diploma programme to KUCCPS comes at a time when thousands of 2025 KCSE graduates await placement in universities and other higher learning institutions. Earlier in 2026, the Kenya Medical Training College led the first wave of college applications through KUCCPS, with university application submissions expected to begin in March.

The Ministry of Education reports that 993,000 students sat the 2025 KCSE exams. Of these, 270,715 candidates achieved a mean grade of C+ and above, making them eligible for direct entry into universities. Meanwhile, 507,131 attained grade C and above, and 634,082 scored D+ and above.
